Velociraptor (/ v ɪ ˈ l ɒ s ɪ r æ p t ər /; meaning "swift seizer" in Latin) is a genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived approximately 75 to 71 million years ago during the latter part of the Cretaceous Period.
Two species are currently recognized, although others have been assigned in the past. The type species is V. mongoliensis; fossils of this species have been Clade: Dinosauria. Indinosaurs were collected from Shandong Peninsula, Sichuan Basin, Inner Mongolia, and Xinjiang.
From until contemporary times, China put up international projects like the Canada-China Dinosaur Project, Sino-Japanese Silk Road Dinosaur Expedition, and the Sino-Belgian Dinosaur Expedition.

The skull, which grew up to 25 cm (10 in) long, was uniquely up-curved, concave on the upper surface and convex on the lower. The jaws were lined with 26–28 widely spaced teeth on each side, each more strongly serrated on. Only two species are currently recognized, although others have been assigned in the past.
The type species is V. mongoliensis; fossils of this species have been discovered in both Inner and Outer Mongolia in central Asia. It is widely known that non-avian dinosaurs were the largest creatures to roam the Earth. There is, however, little understanding of how maximum species body size was distributed among the dinosaurs.
